The obverse of this coin is split in half. The left side has the Ian Rank-Broadly effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, while the right side features a portrait of Charles Dickens set within a frame.

The reverse of the coin contains a relief of five of Dickens most iconic characters - David Copperfield, Pip and Estella, Ebenezer Scrooge, and Madame Therese Defarge.
